Patrick is an Open-Source community builder, social entrepreneur, and public intellectual. Patrick received a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from UBC, has won international competitions in the fields of BioDesign and Open-Source Circular Economy, and has founded and developed UBC MugShare, Melt Collective, and MYCOmmunity Toilet. At COSMIC, he leads the Gravity Ventilator team alongside Alex Waslen, and leads the strategy of COSMIC at the mission, vision, and planning levels. Technology is combinatorial by nature: we combine what we have already, to invent new methods and tools. Given that, as Newton remarked, we are all standing on the shoulders of the giants who came before us, sharing the blueprints and source code for new innovations is the fastest, smartest way to nurture solutions to global 'wicked' problems.

Abhijit holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from UBC and is a PMP certified project manager. In COSMIC, he is involved in Bubble Helmet and Oxygen Concentrator projects as a Materials engineer and a Project Manager-Analyst. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, he is keen to take COVID specific innovations to the rest of the world in response to alleviate this worldwide crisis.

Team Social Media works in conjunction with PR/Fundraising team to create marketing content for COSMIC projects and promote COSMIC’s mission during COVID-19 on popular social media platforms.
