In this together.

We are far from the only team trying to come up with solutions for the Covid-19 pandemic. There are efforts worldwide, but we wanted to share some things going on closer to our home, Vancouver British Columbia.

Project Northern Lights

Project Northern Lights represents a group of volunteers from across Canada. We are eagerly organizing into teams to produce useful, open source solutions to the coming COVID-19 healthcare crisis. We are seeing signs of exponential case growth due to community spread. By studying what has happened during outbreaks in other countries, we are learning how to better prepare ourselves for the coming crisis.

Covid Stop

Covid Stop was put together by Shop3D.ca They are producing face shields right now. They are looking at other opportunities for 3D printing as well. They are donating these to medical and other front line workers (who are currently accepting them) and offering the filament/shipping for free for anyone who volunteers their printer for production.

Coming Together Vancouver

Coming Together Vancouver Are you in need of help during this pandemic or able to help others? In this time of uncertainty, we can choose fear, division, hoarding, and increasing inequality across society. Or we can choose to change the narrative. We choose the latter. This is for all of us who want to connect to share resources, extend a helping hand to our neighbours, show solidarity for healthcare workers and the vulnerable, and highlight social movements that are fighting for access to healthcare, housing, and workers’ rights.

Open Source COVID-19 Medical Supplies - British Columbia (OSCMS-BC)

OSCMS-BC is helping to prevent the spread of Covid-19 via assisting with manufacturing of Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) as well as whatever treatment and diagnostic equipment is needed. This group will help to serve as a primary point of contact for the British Columbian Hardware Engineering and Manufacturing community to communicate with global efforts, our Canadian and US counterparts, the Canadian Government, local hospitals, and Tier 1 medical device manufacturers.

Crisis Rapid Prototyping Society

Crisis Rapid Prototyping Society was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following observations of the crisis response in Italy—particularly as it relates to the supply chain for one-time-use medical parts and devices such as ventilators—CRPS identified an opportunity to organize community resources to assist health system logistics teams and front-line healthcare workers.

CRPS is a registered society based in British Columbia, Canada: #S0072902
